Help

Short answers to the things people ask standing in a terminal. If yours isn’t here, message us.

Language and currency

Booking and payment

Do I need an account?
No. Book as a guest and keep the MCE-XXXXXX reference — that plus the email or number you used opens your tickets at Find my booking.
What does the booking fee cover?
₱25.00 per seat, on top of the operator’s fare, and shown before you pay. It covers the payment gateway and running the marketplace. The operator sets the fare; we never change it.
How can I pay?
GCash, Maya, a card, or over the counter at 7-Eleven. Over-the-counter holds your seats for 30 minutes; if the hold lapses the seats go back on sale and nothing is charged.
How many seats can I book at once?
Up to 10. For a bigger group, email groups@mercurie.ph and we book it for you.
Is any of this real?
This is a demonstration build: payments, messages and refunds are simulated. Nothing is charged. The one thing that is real is the email with your tickets, one QR code per ticket, sent to the address you book with.

Before you travel

What do I show at the gate?
The QR on your ticket stub, and an ID in the passenger’s name. Open Full-screen QR from the booking page so the scanner can read it.
How early should I be there?
Thirty minutes for a bus, an hour for a ferry. Terminals and piers are listed with their landmarks on Terminals and ports.
What if the trip is delayed or cancelled?
The operator posts a notice and we message everyone booked on it. A cancellation is refunded in full.
All times are PHT?
Yes. Every time on this site is Philippine Standard Time.

Luggage

What’s included?
The allowance belongs to the ticket type, not the route — it’s printed on the ticket type when you choose it and on every stub. Typically one or two bags up to 20kg.
Extra bags?
Add them at the passenger step and pay with the booking. Adding them at the terminal costs more and depends on space.
Bicycles, surfboards, animals?
Operator by operator. Message us with the trip and we’ll ask them for you.

Changes and refunds

Can I move my ticket?
If the ticket type allows date changes and you’re before its cutoff. Seat changes are always allowed on a live ticket.
Can I get my money back?
Refundable ticket types, before the cutoff. You get the fare back less this ticket’s share of any promo; the booking fee paid on it is kept. Full rules: Change & refund policy.
My ticket type says no. Now what?
Ask anyway — it opens a support ticket and a person reads it.
Senior, PWD or student discount?
Claim it at checkout with the ID number. Students get 20% off the fare. Senior citizens and PWDs get 20% off too, and on fares that include 12% VAT (most ferries) the VAT comes off first — a ₱1,120 fare becomes ₱800. Each operator says which discounts it gives; checkout only offers those. The Mercurie team checks the ID afterwards, and the fare changes only once it’s approved.

Accessibility

Accessibility is a feature here, not an afterthought. On every page:

  • A skip link — press Tab on any page and the first stop is “Skip to content”.
  • Labelled controls throughout: every field, every seat and every filter has a real label, so nothing is a guess.
  • Screen-reader support: the seat map is a set of labelled checkboxes that say whether a seat is free, held or sold; messages are announced politely; tables carry captions and column headers.
  • Keyboard only? Everything works — visible focus rings, 44px targets, no hover-only controls, and no JavaScript needed to book.
  • Step-free boarding: tick the box at the passenger step and the request travels to the operator’s terminal team with the manifest. Terminals that offer it say so on Terminals and ports.
  • Reduced motion is respected: the one animation we have — the stamp on a new ticket — doesn’t play if your device asks for less motion.
  • Body text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed for low-vision readers.
